Using Google Calendar Sync Utility with Outlook

Last reviewed on November 30, 2013

Although Google stopped updating their Calendar sync utility in 2009, you can still use it to sync your Gmail calendar with Outlook 2010 or Outlook 2013 (and older versions of Outlook as well).

If you don't have a copy of the sync utility, you can download it here.

  1. Close Outlook.
  2. Double click to run the Calendar Sync installer and enter your Gmail username and password when asked. You'll also choose your sync option: one or two way.
  3. Set up Google calendar sync

  4. You can reopen this dialog to change the sync options at any time by right clicking on the Calendar Sync icon in the Notification tray and choosing Options. You can force a sync at any time from this dialog as well.
  5. Change sync options

For most people, this is all you need to do to sync the Gmail calendar with your default Outlook calendar.

You can create a Gmail account using your email address, then sync your Outlook calendar with the Gmail calendar and Android devices.
